Read MoreRunning out of tea is not an option in my life. OK, I don’t run out of coffee beans either, but tea is really an essential. So it’s absolutely right that we should be celebrating the ‘cup that cheers’ in the Quilt Block Mania complimentary ‘block of the month’. I love a decent teapot (spout doesn’t drip, tea leaves don’t clog, well balanced, stays hot…). My block is a nice simple applique block.

Read MoreVintage linens are a lovely source of hand embroidery. Sadly, as people pass on a lot of these beautiful items are being thrown out. If they end up in charity shops, they are a great opportunity for quilters to start a stash of hand embroidered items, and to upcycle them for contemporary use. I think our grandmothers would be happy to see their treasures being treasured and used.
