I’m using my scraps to make fabric. Then using the scrap fabric to make leaves and backings and borders. It’s the scrap elimination challenge from Swan amity studios.

Read MoreRunning out of tea is not an option in my life. OK, I don’t run out of coffee beans either, but tea is really an essential. So it’s absolutely right that we should be celebrating the ‘cup that cheers’ in the Quilt Block Mania complimentary ‘block of the month’. I love a decent teapot (spout doesn’t drip, tea leaves don’t clog, well balanced, stays hot…). My block is a nice simple applique block.
Read MoreRainbow lorikeets are cheeky, smart as paint and as brightly cvoloured. They are opportunisitc and are quite happy to join you for coffee and cake at any cafe of your choosing. They are not supposed to eat cake. Sugar is bad for them. But like people they still do. I just hope that cafe culture is not doing them too much harm. This little fellow was a dining companion at NSW Art Gallery in Sydney. To be fair, I’d much rather have a lorikeet than an Ibis who have very anti-social wingspans and no sense of their own size.
