Jobs for mathematicians - the Sine Wave and the Unit Circle

This month the quilt block mania theme is ‘occupations’. I’m celebrating mathematicians with a sine wave, the unit circle and an exact value triangle. Poppies!

This poppy block is elegant but actually quite simple. It is made using half square triangles and the ‘snowball’ technique with easy bias strip stems.

Celebrating black history month

Celebrating black history month. The snowball block with an interlocking grid created by the secondary blocks makes a fantastic way to represent the connections between all people of good will. All of the people I have chosen to celebrate black history month have made a contribution in their own unique way to our dream of a better future for all humanity. The African wax prints are from Nigeria from Miriam Galadima Benson of Quilt Africa Fabrics.
