Quilt block mania bock of the month -science
This month we are celebrating science, and what a great chance it is to download enough science blocks to make a great quilt. My block is celebrating a great moment in science, when Newton hypothesized his theory of gravity.
Apparently he did have an orchard where he contemplated life, the meaning of, and how things work, and it’s quite possible that apples did play a part in his ruminations about WHY things happen the way they do. I like the fact that whatever brought him to that point, his obeservations of the natural world led him to think about a whole theory about how stuff works.
This block is fairly straightforward. I was trying to do a block that did not have to be foundation pieced, but could just be cut and pieced, however, I decided that for the sake of accuracy it’s nice to have the option of FPP, so in the pattern I’ve put cutting templates for the odd shaed pieces, FPP templates, but also rotary cutting instructions for the rectangles. I hope you enjoy it.
Here are the other design blocks. We have test tubes, conical flasks, the moon landing, a few molecules and elements and a rocket! Remember these patterns are complimentary for October 2021.
